What Bridal Eyelashes To Wear on Your Wedding Day?

As makeup artists, we get asked about bridal eyelashes all the time.

So we thought we’d better write an article about what’s available and what works best for our brides on the Gold Coast.

Looking beautiful on your wedding day is what every bride wants.

The eyes are always what we accentuate the most and are the most noticeable feature for many brides.

Adding a complete set of lashes is an instant way to create a glamorous look for any bride.

Many brides choose to wear false lashes on their wedding day, but there are other options you can consider.

Eyelash Options For Brides

Let’s take a look at the eyelash options:

  • False eyelashes – Individuals and full sets.
  • Eyelash extensions
  • Eyelash lift

What Every Bride Should Know About False Eyelashes?

False eyelashes are constantly evolving with more styles and more options in shapes, styles and what they are made of. Additionally, there are many more vegan choices as the use of mink and silk have lost popularity.

Latex allergies have also been solved as many lash adhesives now contain no latex and have excellent adhesive properties.

Even if you have never worn false eyelashes, consider incorporating them into your bridal makeup.

The different styles are no longer the over-the-top, dramatic lashes you might imagine.

Instead, they can add extra length or extra volume or both.

What you’re looking for is a shape and style of false lashes that give the eyes a lift and elongate the shape of the eye.

Depending on the type of false lashes you choose and how you apply them, you can create anything from a minimalist look to something more daring.

What False Eyelashes For The Bride

Over the years in the bridal business, we have had brides give us sets of lashes that they bought. They were terrible quality or just unsuitable for a wedding day.

They were either too big and dramatic or cheap and shiny. This is not how you want your lashes to look!

To avoid more lash drama when we’ve done your makeup for your big day.

We supply a set of classic false lashes or add individual lashes. These are included in the price.

A lot of makeup artists do this now. So we know how important the right lash is to achieve the look you want.

Full Set False Lashes.

These lashes are attached to a band.

The band is either black or clear.

Cheaper sets of these lashes usually have a thick black band that can be clearly visible when on the eye. Often, the band is not flexible, so the lashes can lift off the eyelid.

Always make sure the band is delicate and flexible so that it hugs the lash line well.

Demi lashes are like half lashes.

They are 3/4 or 1/2 lashes, and many girls like the lashes’ emphasis on the outside corners of their eyes.

A full set of lashes at each corner of the eye can be uncomfortable and distracting in the inner eye area.

Individual Lashes

These lashes have always been popular with brides who want a little more volume in their lashes without carrying a heavier set of lashes.

Individual lashes are simply placed in amongst the bride’s eyelashes. They may look a little odd at first as there will be noticeable glue dots.

The glue dries after a few minutes and becomes invisible.

Magnetic Eyelash Options

Magnetic lashes have dramatically improved and can be a good option if you want reusable false lashes.

We have tested magnetic lashes that use an iron ore pigment in a liquid eyeliner.

The lashes have tiny magnets in the bands, and the magnets stick to the eyeliner thanks to the iron ore pigment.

We were pleasantly surprised at how good they were.

The lashes stick well to the liquid eyeliner. However, you need to clean the magnets after each use to make sure they stick well every time.

Eyelash Lift Or Eyelash Curler?

If you wear false eyelashes, you still need to work with your natural eyelashes. You will need to curl your lashes and apply mascara to blend your natural lashes with the false lashes.

An excellent option for girls who want to wear false lashes regularly is to get an eyelash lift.

Ditch the curler and get a lash lift!

Do you want to stubbornly straighten your lashes but find that using an eyelash curler doesn’t give you the desired effect?

Would you like to highlight your eyes with curved lashes that look longer and fuller?

Then an eyelash lift could be the proper treatment for you.

The entire eyelash lift and tint treatment will take about fifty minutes from start to finish.

Having a lash tint simultaneously as your lash lift and most salons offer it as a double service to tint your lashes at the same time.

You will have beautiful lashes that don’t need mascara or a curl.

An eyelash lift and tint are perfect if you’re going on your honeymoon.

You won’t have to worry about makeup when you’re lounging by the pool or on the beach.

How Long Does An Eyelash Lift Last?

The results of an eyelash lift usually last between four and six weeks, depending on the growth cycle of your eyelashes.

If your permed lashes fall out naturally, straight lashes will grow back behind them. Therefore, we recommend having this done every six weeks to maintain the results.

Have your eyelash lift done the week of your wedding.

This will ensure that the eyelash lift gives the best result and that your eyes have had a few days to recover if you have sensitive eyes.

Do a trial eyelash lift well before your wedding, so you know you won’t have any reactions.

Reactions can occur with any perm or tint solution.

Can I Use Mascara After A Lash Lift?

You can use any type of eye makeup (including mascara) after an eyelash lift. However, it would be helpful to wait 24 hours after the treatment before applying any eye makeup.

Eyelash Extensions For A Wedding

Eyelash extensions are a more permanent solution if you want thicker and longer lashes.

Unlike disposable eyelash strips or individual lashes, eyelash extensions can last two to four weeks with proper care.

What should all brides know about eyelash extensions?

Long, luxurious lashes can completely transform your look.

Voluminous, fringed lashes add instant glamour.

More and more brides are considering eyelash extensions before their wedding and honeymoon.

It’s important to know the pros and cons of the procedure before deciding if eyelash extensions are right for you.

Pre-Wedding Eyelash Extensions

If you’ve never had eyelash extensions and want them for your wedding, you’ll need to get them done a few months before your wedding.

Eyelash extensions, when you first have them done, take a little getting used to.

They are heavy on the eyes, and you have to learn how to take care of them.

Look for a reputable technician who has excellent reviews or verbal references. Don’t be driven by the price. You want a skilled person and these technicians are in demand for good reason.

You don’t want to use a technician who applies poorly placed lashes or irritates your eyes with glue or sloppy work methods.

Use the same lash technician before your wedding. So be sure to book your lash refill appointments for the lead up to our wedding day.

If a couple of lashes have fallen out before your wedding day. Don’t despair: we can quickly apply individual lashes to conceal the gaps.

Eyelash Extensions Are Perfect For Busy Schedules.

Extensions give our brides an extra boost of confidence.

As the wedding date approaches, the bride-to-be can relax, knowing that her eyes will always look glamorous.

She will have perfect lashes for the Bridal Shower, The Hens Party and the big day,

Beautiful lashes add glamour, and after the wedding is over, brides will benefit from lash extensions for the honeymoon.

Bridal Makeup Trial

If you are planning eyelash extensions for your wedding day, you can do them for your makeup trial.

If you wear eyelashes, you will need less makeup to highlight your eyes.

Applying heavy eye makeup plus lash extensions can be too much.

As with anything to do with a wedding – proper planning is key to ensure you are happy with the outcome.

After The Wedding

Eyelash extensions require little maintenance and can last up to three weeks before a replacement appointment is needed.

Professional lash technicians will constantly educate their clients on cleaning the lashes daily, staying away from oil-based products, and not using waterproof mascara.

When it is time to remove the lashes, always go back to the salon. Do not pluck, cut or attempt to remove the lashes yourself. You can damage the existing eyelash follicles and end up with very sore lids and sparse eyelashes.

Final Words About False Eyelashes

Whatever style or type of eyelashes you choose.

We will make sure you look your best on your wedding day.

There is no such thing as “Best Bridal Lashes”.

It is always up to the individual to choose what suits them best.

Most brides leave the choice of lashes to the bridal makeup artist when they opt for false lashes.

They know which lash style to use to lift and shape the eye with a particular lash style.
